Seminars
1:00 PM - 1:50 PM Implementation of GASB 74 & 75, OPEB for Your 2018 Audit, Mark White, CPA, Partner Purvis, Gray and Company
This class will go over everything you need to know to implement GASB No.'s 74 and 75 regarding OPEB for your 2018 audit. We will compare new standards to the old OPEB standards (No.'s 43 and 45) as well as recent GASB Pension standards (No.'s 67 and 68) which follow a similar path.
2:00 PM - 3:40 PM The Intersection of Data Analytics, Automated Controls, and Fraud Prevention and Detection, Andrew Lafflin, CPA, Principal, State and Local Government, Clifton, Larson, Allen, LLP
In this session, we will explore fraud risks that could affect your local government through a series of case studies. Specifically, we will identify actual instances of fraud that have occurred and learn about internal control activities that could have been in place to prevent the fraud from occurring or at least detect the malfeasance earlier. Additional focus will be given to automated controls, use of data analytics, and other audit considerations.
Please come and have fun as we network and enjoy these interactive workshop presentations.
